About Me

I'm Leah and I am always dreaming up ways to interact with the world through writing. One, because I enjoy writing and I have a knack for it. Two, because I'm an introvert and far more comfortable socializing through written word than spoken. Three, because I have constant chatter going on in my head and much like a pressure cooker, words need to escape to keep the pressure manageable.

Back in the day, I wrote on a blog I created called Waiting for Halley's Comet. It was an outlet, an airing of my thoughts, as I navigated my very busy world of being a hospital nurse, mom of two toddlers, special needs mom, wife, daughter, and friend. As life piled on like life tends to do, the writing went to the wayside and I stopped writing altogether.

Then all my nurse colleagues were reading Fifty Shades of Grey and I told them I could do that, so I did. I wrote two doctor/nurse erotic romance novels, Love Me Back to Life and Heal My Broken Heart for my Gold Coast Romance series. Then I stopped because Squirrel!

I kept on nursing, added a surprise third kid to the mix, and was asked to write an erotic story for Scripts, a chapter entertainment app. I named the book Prescription for Pleasure but it was changed to Dr. Sex. They asked me to write more, but the pay wasn't worth the pressure. Then another story app asked me to write for them, but again, my heart wasn't in it for pennies.

During this time I entered a new chapter in my life, divorce, and needed to make changes to my schedule to better accommodate my kids' schedules. After 17 years of full-time bedside nursing, I started to work from home and at this point, I don't plan to ever look back. But I do want to keep on writing. So, here I am again.
